Maria was a warm, kind person who really made an impression on everyone she came in contact with. I had the pleasure of spending a week working and getting to know her on our trip to the Dominican Republic. She has made a positive difference in the lives of so many people and she will greatly be missed. My love and thoughts go out to the family.

Mama Rey had such a beautiful soul. Her smile would light up the room! Although I hadn't seen her in a while, I always considered her to be a second mom. I knew if I needed anything, I was always welcome at her home. They say God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers. I can't imagine the pain you all feel, but just know that the sun will set and rise again. Rey family... I love all of you so so much. My love is with you now and always.

Maria was a loving wife and mother and a wonderful, caring colleague. All of us who worked with her at CHOP are missing her terribly. She cared very much about her patients and was a great booster for the hospital and the various events held for fundraising and for helping in the community.
Maria gave me rides often when we attended activities together, and I always enjoyed talking with her and sharing time together. She was always kind and generous. My heart aches for her pain and for her family as they go through this loss.

Que en paz descanses, mi querida amiga.
