Tribute & Message From The Family

Jeanne M. Dolaway (nee McNally) of Blue Bell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 6, 2021. She was 80 years old. Born October 14, 1940 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Emelia (nee Roma) McNally and the beloved wife of Charles E. Dolaway with whom she shared 58 years of marriage.

Jeanne was raised in the Mount Airy section of Philadelphia where she lived with her parents, sister, and extended family. She attended Cecilian Academy for Girls, where she formed friendships which lasted a lifetime. Jeanne married her high school sweetheart, Charlie, in 1963 and quickly started a family of her own. Jeanne and Charlie moved to Blue Bell in 1970 to raise their five children where she remained for the rest of her days. Jeanne spent her summers in Ocean City, NJ enjoying frequent trips to Atlantic City and the ringing of slot machines in the background. Never a fan of the cold Philadelphia winters, Jeanne would escape to the more agreeable climate of the Florida Keys following the Christmas holidays.

Jeanne was an active volunteer throughout her life dedicating her time to many organizations including Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, LaSalle College High School, Mount Saint Joseph Academy, and most notably, Crossing the Finish Line which later became For Pete's Sake Cancer Respite Foundation.

A devoted mother and loving MomMom, Jeanne was happiest spending time with her family, particularly making every holiday special and summers in Ocean City unforgettable.

In addition to her husband Charles, Jeanne is survived by her five children; Chip (Mary), John (Michele), Christy Tyrrell (Mike), Kirk (Suzy) and Paul (Jackie), 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild as well as her brother-in-law, Jim McGoldrick, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Rinda McGoldrick.

Relatives and friends are invited to share in Jeanne's Life Celebration on Sunday July 11 from 4 PM to 8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish of East Norriton, 200 West Germantown Pike, 610-277-7000, and on Monday July 12, from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM at St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA, 19422. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 AM at the church. Entombment will be at Whitemarsh Memorial Park.
