Tribute & Message From The Family

Patrick M. McGee, Sr. of Norristown, passed away peacefully on Friday August 6, 2021. He was 71 years old. He was the loving husband of the late Gertrude "Trudy" (McMenamin) McGee with whom he shared 43 years of marriage, and was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Meyers) McGee

Born on July 10 1950, Pat grew up in Bridgeport – part of the 6th street McGees – attended Bishop Kenrick High School and graduated in 1968. He was a long time member of St. Patrick's Church in Norristown.

Pat worked for many years with financing companies and later for ACME Markets where he affectionately became known as Pop-Pop to everyone who worked and shopped there.
He was a fan of reading Stephen King novels, watching MASH, Hill Street Blues, Clint Eastwood movies and of course his favorites- Law & Order, Jerry Springer and Maury Povich. Pat took up golfing later in life and loved taking time to play. Although just a hobby, he missed not being able to play more in recent years.

He is survived by his children: Meghan Catagnus (Joe), Shannon McGee, and Patrick M. McGee, Jr. (Angela), two grandchildren: Ryleigh and Joey Catagnus. He is also survived by his brother William McGee, sister Elizabeth Valerio (Joe), and many nieces & nephews

In lieu of flowers, his children ask that donations be made in their father's memory to the Patrician Society (www.patriciansociety.org)

A memorial and celebration of Pat's life will be held at a later date.

Condolence & Memory Journal

You were the quietest, nicest and most reserved kids at St Augustines school,at least towards me. I always saw you working in your back yard and you and Mary Bard were neighbors so when I was at my Grandmothers or cousins house we exchanged hellos.Even in high school we didn't really get together but you always said hi! Pat you will be in my prayers and thoughts.

As kids Pat and I lived across the street from one another. We had some fun and crazy times. I am sorry for your loss.

Patrick, Megan, and Shannon, I was so sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was a kind and gentle soul, and your Mom's devotion to him was amazing. I believe they are back together again!

Pat was a classmate from first grade through high school. He was a fine considerate man and a fellow Bridgeport guy. I'm sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to those who knew and loved Pat.
