Tribute & Message From The Family

Martin J. Bowne, age 79, of New Hope, PA, formerly of Cape May, NJ, passed away with his family at his side August 21, 2021, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, PA. He was born in Long Branch, NJ, the son of the late William H. Jr. and Lillian Bowne.
He was the beloved husband of Lenore for over 56 wonderful years. The loving father of Jeffrey C. Bowne and Jennifer B. Crounse (husband Michael J.) will be sadly missed by his grandchildren; Emily N. Crounse, Michael G. Crounse, Lilly G. Crounse, his brother William H. III (wife Donna and children William T. Stephen A. and Michele V.) and by all who knew him.
Martin was a retired partner and CPA at Ernst and Young, where he worked for 35 years in financial services. He attended Dartmouth College and the Tuck School of Business earning his BA & MBA after which he proudly served as an officer in the United States Army. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, golf, and creating culinary delights on his outdoor grill. When he wasn't on one of his many mission trips to Guatemala, he loved spending his free time with his family and his dogs - Jackson & Jovie.
He will be remembered as a man of deep faith who believed his mission in life was to serve his Lord.
Relatives and friends are invited to Martin's Life Celebration on the 31st of August from 10 to 11am at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope, PA 18938, followed by his Funeral Service at 11am. Lenore, We grieve with you on the loss of Marty. He was a wonderful person and a great classmate and leader of the Dartmouth Class of 1963. He preceded me as Class President and could not have been more helpful or supportive of the Class and me during my term. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this terrible time.
