Tribute & Message From The Family

Cosmo D. Salamone, Jr., (Cos), of Blue Bell, PA, passed away on September 24, 2021 at the age of 83. He was the beloved husband for 39 years of Mary E. Salamone (nee Lavelle).
Cos proudly served his country as a United States Marine upon his completion from high school. He went on to a successful corporate career with General Electric, Ford Aerospace and CIGNA Insurance, simultaneously taking night classes and at times holding part time jobs. After an early retirement in 1994, Cos began a second career in hospitality, combining his corporate skills, congenial personality, and expertise as a mixologist. Known for his ability to make all feel welcome, he served as bar manager of several restaurants and most recently as Beverage Manager for The Lake House Inn for 12 years, prior to his final retirement at age
80. He was the hardest worker there was.

Cos enjoyed golf, wine making, cooking and gardening. He loved trying new recipes, and sharing a bottle of his wine with whomever was lucky enough to receive one. Much to his family's surprise and delight, he enjoyed baking cookies at Christmas time. Cos was also known to make the perfect cocktail!
He and Mary Ellen cherished their winters together in Ft. Myers Beach, FL, and looked forward to visits from their family and friends. A huge highlight of Cos' life was a trip to Italy which included connecting to his ancestral roots in the town of Casalduni, the birthplace of his parents.
But his greatest joys were spending time with his family, holding on to his Italian traditions and annually hosting Christmas Eve Feast of the Seven Fishes. It was a celebration not to be missed.
Cos was the guy you could count on; the guy who would bail you out if you needed a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, an extra buck or advice whether you needed it or not. He will be greatly missed by countless people who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Marie Landis (Jeffrey), Jacqueline Robertson (Richard), Christine Garner, and bonus daughter, Linda Mitchell (Kevin). He will also be greatly missed by his grandchildren, bonus grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He embraced them all.
Born to the late Cosmo D. Salamone, Sr., and Pasqualina (Di Cicco) on December 6, 1937, in the Black Horse section of Norristown, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Anthony, Harry and Carmella Petrolina and stepson Anthony Moscufo. He was also predeceased by his granddog Buddy, with whom he shared a special bond.
Relatives and friends are invited to Cosmo's Life Celebration on Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 6-8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Life Celebration Home 200 W. Germantown Pike, Norristown, PA; his funeral mass will be held Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 10 AM Our Lady of Mount Carmel Chapel, Holy Saviour Parish, 454 Fairfield Rd, Norristown, PA 19401; entombment to follow at St. Patrick's Mausoleum.
