Tribute & Message From The Family

Marie Carmel Georges was born on November 3, 1952, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Gerald and Laurette Georges. In 1971, Marie Carmel established her home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She dedicated her life to helping others and built a legacy of service.

Marie Carmel valued education and challenged herself through her advanced studies. She received her associate degree in Nursing from Community College of Philadelphia, her bachelor's degree in Nursing from Penn State University, and her master's degree in Education from Beaver College, now known as Arcadia University. Marie Carmel applied her knowledge and skills throughout her nursing career. She first served as a Nurse's Aide at Roxborough Memorial and Germantown Hospital. She later worked as a Registered Nurse for more than 35 years with the team at Einstein Hospital, retiring in 2019.

To all that knew her, Marie Carmel was many things: honest, devoted, opinionated, and generous. As a woman of faith, she was a devout Catholic, a member of Saint Athanasius Catholic Church, and a role model to many as a Godmother. On Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the age of 69, Marie Carmel went to be with the Lord in Heaven.

Marie Carmel's memory will live on through her siblings Marie Yves Duroseau, Geralda Georges, Gladys Georges, Daphny Georges, Jean Nader, and Jean Robert Georges; her nephews Gerard Georges and Robert Georges; her niece Cassandra Georges; her great-niece Aniya Georges; her beloved godchildren; members of her extended family; and her many cherished friends.

Marie Carmel Georges will be greatly missed.

Matthew 5:12 "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven…"
