Tribute & Message From The Family

Karen L. Barr (nee Stoppel) 62 of Bensalem passed away peacefully on January 21, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Amos M. Barr, Jr. Loving mother of Andrew M. Barr (Tyler Zeoli) and Brian M. Barr (Nefertiti Jenkins). Step-mother of Amy Eshelman (Zeb) and Amos M. Barr, III (Leslie). Dear sister of Leslie Love (Ian), Sharon Jankowitsch (John) and Kristine Burns (Thomas).

Karen enjoyed spirited political discussion, automobiles, and Classic Rock and Motown music. Her favorite pastimes with her sons included exploring Philadelphia and visiting new restaurants with Andrew, and watching Star Trek with Brian. She loved her dogs, vacationing, and spending time with her wonderful friends. She always rooted for the Philadelphia Eagles, and enjoyed watching sports. Karen lived her life unapologetically. Most would describe Karen as brave, resilient, funny, vibrant and selfless. She looked up to her lovely sisters and beloved grandmother, Hilda. Some of her favorite places were the beach, Barr's Farm, and her home where she found safety and peace of mind in each.

Relatives and friends are invited to Karen's Life Celebration Thursday, January 27, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Swartz Givnish of Newtown, 323 Washington Ave. Per family request, face coverings will be required upon entry for the safety of all attendees. In lieu of flowers, donations in Karen's memory may be made to Wags Rescue and Referral. Cash donations will also be accepted at the ceremony.

Our deepest condolences to her children and her family. Karen was always a pleasure to be around and I'm blessed for having known her. No one had her sense of humor and quick wit, and I enjoyed both our friendship and working relationship immensely. Rest in peace Karen...may heaven be everything you could have expected and I know you've been hanging out at that Rainbow Bridge with your fur babies.
