Tribute & Message From The Family

Theresa, L., of Philadelphia, PA but lovingly called "Dukes" by family and friends, passed away on February 2nd at the age of 63. She was a devoted wife to Robert (deceased) and raised her children Laura and Krystal (deceased) with love and laughter in the home they shared for almost 35 years. She was the mother-in-law and faithful partner-in-crime to Michael Grover. Dukes will also be greatly missed by her trusty sidekick "Puddles" who always shared whatever treats she ate. Terry was the cherished younger sister of Michael Anhalt (Lisa) and John Anhalt (Helen). Sister to Barbara. Terry was predeceased by her father Henry Anhalt Sr, and siblings, Henry Anhalt, Jr., Joseph Anhalt, and Christopher Anhalt.

In her younger years, Terry was known for her feisty, talkative personality as a nighttime cashier at Hanks Produce. As years passed, she became more reserved but remained silly, quick-witted, and kind. She was a natural caregiver, who devoted her life to caring for others, especially, her husband Robert and daughter Krystal whose lives were enriched and prolonged by her loving care. Terry loved sleeping late, a cozy pair of pajamas, any slippers she could find, Dunkin donuts coffee, and a fresh blueberry muffin. She was a true Philly Phanatic and watched every Phillies and Eagles game no matter how good/bad the season—making sure to mark the Ws and Ss in her calendar.

Family and friends are invited to Dukes' Life Celebration on Tuesday, February 8th, from 6-7:30 PM, followed by an evening vigil at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd, Philadelphia, PA 19154, and on Wednesday, February 9th at St. Adalbert Roman Catholic Church, 2645 E Allegheny Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19134, from 9:30 – 10:30 AM. A funeral mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment services will be held at Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Bridesburg. In honor of Theresa, the family is asking for flowers in her favorite colors purple and white, or donations can be made in her name to Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls, 1000 W Lycoming St, Philadelphia, PA 19140.
