Tribute & Message From The Family

George Rodock passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 2, 2022. He was 99 years old.
George was the devoted husband to the late Sophie (nee Stehel) of 30 years. He was the loving brother to the late; John, Mike, Joe, Pete, Helen, Mary, Anne, Nicky, Basil, Andy, and Betsy.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lisa McGauley (Tom) and Kimberly Sylla; his grandchildren, Tommy, Lexi, and Malick; and many nieces, nephews, close friends, and neighbors.
George courageously served in the US Navy in World War II, where he received the European Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, Victory Medal, and V-12 Bulletin 364. After serving the country, he attended The University of Pennsylvania where he majored in English Education and minored in Naval Science. George then worked as a teacher for the Philadelphia public school system after graduating, and later made a career in management at the Social Security Administration where he met his late wife. After retiring he was employed as a security guard at Lafayette Retirement Home, and Paul's Run. George's sweet, kind, and gentle soul will be missed by everyone who was fortunate to know him. As George would say, "Kill them with kindness."

Family and friends are invited to George's Life Celebration on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 6PM – 8PM at The John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home, 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA, 19154 and on Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 9AM – 10AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1773 Woodbourne Rd., Levittown, PA, 19057, followed by a funeral mass at 10AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
Masks are requested to be worn.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 1773 Woodbourne Rd., Levittown, PA, 19057.


Condolence & Memory Journal

I knew George and Sophie way back in the 1980's, I taught a CR Social Security Class in Georges Northeast SSA Office.....he was indeed and nice and kind man.....Then in 1985 I was promoted at the Hearings and Appeals Jenkintown, Pa Office. That's where I met your mom Sophie, what a sweet lady is was, her desk was right outside my office door and she would alway come in and ask if I would like my usual black coffee......a good worker, wonderful human being.....I can picture in my mind your mom and dads face.....She often told me about her two girls.....just was looking at an old address book and saw their names and thought let me see your mom was on sorry to know her passing was just ten years after I left Jenkintown and transferred to Regional Office in Phila.. and new your dad just recently passed.....I was living in Port Charlotte Florida when your mom passed....I live in Lebanon, county, Pa.
