Tribute & Message From The Family

Carol Sue Tompkins (nee Wilson) passed away on March 3, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Dennis C. Tompkins. Loving mother of Stephanie Tompkins and Susanna Tompkins Salvati (Ron). Dear sister of Thomas Wilson, Jr, Richard Wilson (Danna) and the late Harry "Bobby" Wilson (Sally). Also survived by nieces and nephews

Carol Sue was a fun loving, adventurous, strong willed soul. She was not afraid to stand out of the crowd. She loved to dance and party and even in her earlier years dabbled in modeling. Her adventurous nature also led her to love racing cars and traveling cross country with her mother. In life she pathed her own path.
Carol Sue was a caregiver at heart and found her calling through taking care of her parents. During this time she realized she wanted to be a nurse. She enjoyed caring for people in their time of need and wasn't afraid to speak up if she felt her patient wasn't getting proper care. She had worked in a variety of healthcare settings including a hospital, doctors office, pediatric/elder care agency.

Carol Sue enjoyed being with family and spending time outdoors. When outside you would find her working on her garden, relaxing in her rocking chair, or barbecuing. When she was feeling creative she enjoyed making candles, sewing, and other types of craft projects. She also valued family traditions by continuing the legacy of making grave blankets and centerpieces for family members at Christmas time. Sometimes when she needed to get away she loved taking day trips with her husband and children to the casino or she might just drive to Jersey for her favorite tomatoes. When it came time for a vacation she would often take road trips to visit family. Even in her later years when her body had trouble keeping up, she never strayed from enjoying fun. She made many friends in the retirement facility she lived in and never turned down the chance to shimmy away in her chair when music was playing. She will truly be missed to all who knew and loved her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Carol's Life Celebration Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at John F. Givnish of Academy Rd, 10975 Academy Rd. Followed by her Funeral Service at 8:00pm. Carol's interment will take place on March 16, 2022, 1:30PM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. In lieu of flower donations in Carol's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America.
