Edwin James Lucas III of Newtown, PA passed away unexpectedly on March 8th, 2022 at the age of 75.

Jim is the loving husband of Cheryl and shared 54 wonderful years of marriage. He is the beloved father of E.J., Corrina, Keith, Melissa (Brad) and Stacy (Ramon) and his adoring grandchildren Cheyanne, Olivia, Ethan, Emma, Makayla, Lilyanna, and Tristan James with many nieces and nephews. Jim is survived by his brothers, Wayne Lucas and Gary Lucas (Tina).
Edwin (also known as Ed, Eddie, Jim, Jimmy, James, and Mr. Lucas) was born in Philadelphia, PA to parents Agnes (Gerner) Lucas and Edwin James Lucas Jr.

Jim was a proud Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War. He was stationed in Bitburg, Germany at the Spangdahlem Air Base. After serving his tour of duty, he moved to Newtown, PA. Jim retired in 2018 from Rainbow Shops as a Regional Manager with more than 34 years with the company. Jim loved to take annual trips to Disney, Dollywood, and Maine in his Motorhome with his family. He will be dearly missed and was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend, neighbor and co-worker to all that knew him.

Friends and relatives are invited to Jim's viewing on Sunday evening, March 27th, from 6-8 PM at Swartz-Givnish of Newtown, 323 E. Washington Ave. and Monday, March 28th, at St. Andrews Church, 81 Swamp Rd., Newtown, PA, from 9:30-11 AM, followed by his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM. Jim will be interred with military honors at 1:30pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
