Tribute & Message From The Family

Rose Spei passed away peacefully on March 31, 2022. She was 89 years old. Rose was born in Philadelphia to the late Sophina and Samuel Martorano. She is survived by her beloved children, Cindy (Robert), Lisa, and Sandy; loving grandchildren, Michael, Stephen, Samantha, and Jayden; great-grandchildren, Michael, Anthony, Christopher, Stephen, and Matthew; and sisters, Josephine Menshouse, and Cass Gianfrancesco.

Rose was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was proud of her South Philadelphia roots and often reminisced about her neighborhood and all her favorite pastimes. Rose was energetic, outgoing and a social butterfly who enjoyed the company of her friends, family and even those she didn't know. There was never a dull moment when you were in Rose's presence..

Rose enjoyed spending time in the kitchen cooking for her family but her true passion was eating, never missing an opportunity to sneak a bite to eat. When she wasn't in the kitchen she could be found doing her word searches or singing and dancing throughout the house to her favorite musician - Frank Sinatra. Rose loved shopping for new shoes and pocketbooks. Always looking for an opportunity to get dressed up and a reason to get her hair done.

While Rose loved many and enjoyed many things in her life, her most treasured moments were spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren watching them grow. Rose (Nan) proudly doted over them and spoiled them every chance she got

Relatives and friends are invited to Rose's Life Celebration on Monday, April 11, 2022 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home, 10975 Academy Road, Philadelphia, PA 19154. A funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM.
