Loving Husband, Father and Grandfather

John H. Crankshaw, age 83, of the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, passed away on April 14, 2022, at Deer Meadows. Born in Philadelphia, John was the son of The Late John and Euphemia (nee Dallas) Crankshaw. He was:
Beloved husband of 54 Years to Anne (nee O' Hara) Crankshaw
Loving Father of Michele (Dan) Lawson, Kelly (Joseph) Mc Laughlin
And John (Kristin) Crankshaw.
Devoted Grandfather of Patrick and Sean Lawson, Joseph and James McLaughlin, and Claire and Connor Crankshaw.
Brother to the Late Joan Marro. Survived by a brother Thomas Crankshaw, Brother-in-Laws Daniel O'Hara and Donald Marro, and Sister-in-Laws Rita Crankshaw and Joanne O'Hara.
John grew up in the Frankford section of Northeast Philadelphia and is a graduate of Frankford High School. He was a navy veteran serving on the USS DuPont DDG 941.
John was employed for over 30 Years with Pitney Bowes as a Customer Service Engineer.
He volunteered as a Marshall with the Greater Kensington String Band.
John also served as a past president of the Our Lady of Ransom Home and School Association as well as a coach and board member with the Mayfair Shamrock's Youth Club.
He loved spending time reading, watching Philadelphia sports and learning about American Civil War. But most of all, John loved and was very proud of his Grandchildren. Spending time with them was precious to him.
Family, friends, and employees of Pitney Bowes are invited to his Life Celebration Saturday April 23 at the John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home 10975 Academy Rd. from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM., followed by his funeral service at 10:30 AM. Interment will be private. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Greater Kensington String Band, or the Charity of the donor's choice, as well as doing a good deed for someone.
