Tribute & Message From The Family

Windfelder

Francis Charles, of Philadelphia, passed away on April 13th, 2022 at the age of 80. He was the beloved husband of Alberta Marie Windfelder. They were married for 44 happy years. Frank was the devoted father of Dawn Marie Windfelder, and Anne Windfelder, loving grandfather of Alyssa Leigh Windfelder, Andrea Lynn Windfelder, and Morgan Elizabeth Jenkins; beloved brother of Caroline Anne Beisel, and loving uncle of Timothy Joseph Steiner, Carol Lynn Beisel, and Charles William Steiner.

Frank was born to his parents Francis and Carolyn Windfelder in 1941 and raised in Philadelphia. He went on to graduate from Villanova University with a Master's of Arts in Teaching Mathematics. He worked for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia as a school teacher at Northeast Catholic High School for over 40 years. He retired in 2003.

Frank loved to bird watch and was a past President of the Delaware Valley Ornithological Club, and the National Audubon Society. He also founded the Eagle Retreat Along the Delaware. Frank enjoyed playing softball and belonged to a bowling league at Thunder Bird Lanes on Holme Ave. Frank was a devoted family man, a strong-willed, independent person. He will be greatly missed by his family and close friends.
Service information will be added once confirmed with the church.
