Condolence & Memory Journal
Mr. Windfelder was a fantastic teacher who taught me twice at North Catholic. I was in the class of 1971. His great teaching inspired me to seek a degree in Math (Millersville University). From that I transferred my math knowledge to having a career in computer programming for the U.S. Navy. Thank you so much Mr. Windfelder and I will see you in Math Heaven someday!

Mr. Windfelder is a huge reason I am now an engineer. His geometry class sophomore year is what made math click for me. After that; the rest is history. I cannot express enough the impact he has had on my life. I am very saddened by his passing. He will be truly missed. RIP

He was a devoted teacher with n esoteric sense of humor. I struggled with algebra but he always gave me a college-credit grade. He said: Hank, I know you know the work; you just freeze taking tests." I always appreciated his consideration. He was another example of true North Catholic Salesian spirit. RIP BROTHER FALCON!

I've always loved gulls and terns. I grew up with them everywhere, so they've remained a symbol of home since I was very very small. But when I first started to become a more serious birder, they took on a new complexity and I stopped enjoying them the way that I had used to. The phases were especially perplexing and I felt like such a novice not being able to tell which was which. It took one single afternoon birding with you to teach me how to love them again, and I still think of you each and every time I see one. Thank you for bringing them back home to me. Rest in power.

Sincere condolences to the family on Frank's passing. He was an exceptionally kind, caring and enthusiastic person, who mentored and encouraged all new DVOC members. I am lucky to have known him, and will keep his memory and family in my thoughts at this time of great loss. He will be sadly missed.

Tom Southerland, NJ and DVOC member, who along with Margot, enjoyed DVOC trips with Frank at Tuckerton and Palmyra. By chance, we saw Frank at the Mai Po Marshes across from Hong Kong and told him where we had seen a Nordmann's Greenshank, an uncommon migrant, that his group had missed! Frank later saw the bird, along with a Spoonbilled Sandpiper, from a blind.
