Tribute & Message From The Family

James Patrick White, Jr. passed away suddenly on April 21, 2022. He was 82 years old. Jim was born in Philadelphia to Edna and James White, Sr. He is preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Benhayon; son, James Patrick; and grandchild, Ryan Garofolo.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Bonnie (nee Blattner); loving children, Denise Magazzu (Butch), Donna Garofolo (Rick), Kelly White (Mark DiDonato), Sharon Jackson (Jim), and Jimmy Albert White (Kim); 16 grandchildren (Ricky, Melissa, Matt, Chris, Nick, Sean, Amanda, Jimmy, Danny, Michael, Jake, Luke, Brett, Sierra, Ryleigh, Jimi); and 12 great-grandchildren (Chase, Brody, Ryan, Raelynn, Shane, Natalie, Gia, Noah, Logan, Caden, Zach, Wesley).

Jim was raised in the Mayfair section of the city and graduated from Lincoln H.S in 1957, where he excelled in Baseball and Track. Upon graduating, he attended the University of Miami for two years then served in the United States Army (Honorably discharged-330th Engineer Regiment). Jim was stationed at Fort Knox, KY, for most of his service time.

Living in the Holme Circle area of Philadelphia (St. Jerome's Parish) for the remainder of his life, he was a provider for his family. Jim worked as a route salesman-truck driver for Pepsi- Cola for the next 30 years before retiring. Jim was always volunteering in the community; he was a football, baseball, and basketball coach (Crispin Gardens), a Republican Committeeman, and a Father Judge 12th-man president to just name a few.

His essential role and favorite thing by far, was his family. He adored his wife, Bonnie (59 years of marriage), and was always there for his children, grand-children, and great-grandchildren. "Pop-Pop" always led by example, and loved spending time and attending every family event he possibly could.
He treasured his religion (Roman-Catholicism) and being Irish. He loved all the Philly sport teams, Wildwood Crest, the Poconos, fishing, playing games, music, and especially movies. Some of his favorites were: Jaws, Titanic, the Harry Potter series, Killer McCoy, Bataan, and Shane. Recently, he was watching the Spiderman movies over and over.

Jim was truly the patriarch of his family and was venerated by all.

Jim will be remembered FOREVER and will be viewed as the perfect role-model of how to live life and treat others.

Dear Bobbie and family. I am sooo sorry to hear this. I just found out. I have known since High School days and can hardly believe he has passed. Had I known I would have attended his services. Again, sincere condolences.

Jim has meant many things to many people over the years. He always greeted you with a smile and was a delight to sit and talk tomany great stories have been shared. His love and devotion of Bonnie was so apparent, as it was also for his growing family.
We will see his smile and hear his voice in the children born unto him, and the children born to them.

White family

What can I say about Jim White that everybody knows already who has known him. A phenomenal father husband grandfather and great grandfather. A truly good friend who helped me more than he would ever know during my time raising my son Jared. The years I spent coaching with him and my son Jared and Jimmy. I really shouldn't say of my coaching..: I was the head coach always because Jim didn't wannt to. deal with the BS but he was the coach that knew everything. When I moved to Florida we stayed in touch through Facebook and the times I came up to Philly I always went to see him and Bonnie. Jim & Bonnie were so kind to my parents always who adored them. Jim was my idol. I never told him, but he was like a brother to me when I was up in Philly. Tough guy for sure, but a heart like a saint. Jim, I know you're looking down on your family and rest in peace my friend. Heaven is fortunate to have you now and God bless you and your family always.
Love, Marc

Mrs. White and the entire White family- we are sorry for the loss of Jim your patriarch. He has left behind a fine legacy for each of his children and grandchildren and their children to come. May the wonderful memories shared soon outweigh the grief and tears. Mr. White is now able to truly watch over each and every one of you while beaming with pride.
