Alice Cecilia Butler (nee Ross), 74, passed away on Thursday February 27, 2014 in Live Oak, Florida. Alice was born in Ventnor where she grew up and attended Atlantic City High School. She married George H. Butler of Atlantic City and moved to Brigantine to raise their family. After her retirement she resided in Live Oak, Florida.
She was a member of Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Live Oak and Saint Thomas Catholic Church in Brigantine.
She was a loving wife to her husband George H. Butler. Alice was a loving mother to her daughter Suzann Butler from Brigantine, her grandchildren Kelly Lynn Cohen from Northfield, Angelique Butler of Clark, NJ, Jennifer Butler of Gainesville, Florida and John George Westervelt of Westwood, NJ. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Carol and Ronnie Sutton of Northfield, sister-in-law Carol Bennett of Fort White, Florida, brother-in-law James Butler and his wife Louise of Live Oak, Florida and eleven nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Ida A. Ross, her daughter Theresa A. Westervelt, her son Joseph R. Butler, her sister Joan Crane and her husband Dick Crane
Alice was an Owner of Ocean Exposition Services, an Office Manager of Atlantic Expo and a waitress at McGee's Restaurant in Atlantic City. She was a member of Local 54 for many years.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Alice's Life Celebration on Thursday March 6, 2014 from 9:30am to 10:20am at Saint Thomas Roman Catholic Church, 331 8th St. South, Brigantine NJ. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30am. Interment Atlantic City Cemetery, Pleasantville.
