Allen B. Reed, Jr., 90, of Holland, PA formerly of Langhorne and Newtown died on April 2, 2017 at Twining Village, Holland, PA. Born in Aberdeen, MD the son of the late Allen and Elsie Reed.

Allen is a veteran of the US Army serving in Europe and was awarded the combat infantry badge and two battle stars. He is a graduate of Cornell University and was employed as a Chemist throughout his career. Allen worked at Pennwalt Corporation for several years before working for CRC Industries where he retired from in 1991 as Vice President of Sales. Allen enjoyed golf and being a re-enactor with his son Mark at Washington Crossing the Delaware on Christmas Day each year. He was an active member of the Newtown Presbyterian Church, serving as a Deacon, Elder and Trustee as well as a Sunday School Teacher. Allen is a former member of the board of directors of the Bucks Co. Assoc. for the Blind and Visually Impaired, a longtime member of the Newtown Exchange Club, a former Newtown Borough Council Member and served on the Old Historic Presbyterian Church Committee. Allen and Kathy traveled throughout Europe and South America on Business and with family and friends. Although quiet Allen was known for his quick wit and as a "Gentleman" to all who he worked with and knew.

Allen is the devoted husband of 63 years to Katherine "Kathy" Reed and the loving father of Mark W. Reed of Buckhannon, WVA and Betsy and
her husband Rich Kosko of Watertown, CT . He is the proud grandfather of Reed and Jamie Klein. He is also survived by his sister Marjorie Sheffer of Schenectady, NY and brother David E. Reed of Nyack, NY and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by his best friend "Lucy".

Relatives and friends are invited to Allen's Memorial service on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 11 AM at the Newtown Presbyterian Church, Chancellor St. and Washington Ave., Newtown. Interment will be private.
