Anthony "Tony" F. Greco of Blue Bell died peacefully surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at the age of 82.

Tony was born in Philadelphia to the late Frank and Catherine Greco. He was the loving husband of Joan (nee Murdock), dear father to Monica Greco of Towson, MD, Timothy Greco of Norristown, and Jeffrey Greco (Carol) grandfather to Katherine and Daniel and great grandfather to Dante Spears, all of Perkasie, and devoted brother to Angela Germano (Frank) of Wyndmoor and the late Frank Greco of Souderton.

Raised in Mt. Airy, Tony was a graduate of Northeast Catholic High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Naval Reserves at Willow Grove Naval Airbase as an aircrew member, and he flew surveillance missions during the Cuban missile crisis. He later attended Drexel University.

Prior to his retirement, Tony was in the steel business for 50 years, first as a sales manager for American Steel Engineering Company, and then in his own steel supply business, TFG Associates.

Tony was a resident of Whitpain Township for 46 years and cared deeply about the community in which he lived. Throughout his life he was involved in and devoted to local causes and issues that he could affect and improve.

He served in many roles in local government for over 40 years, including the Whitpain Township Planning Commission, Zoning Hearing Board and Board of Supervisors, as well as the Board of Supervisors Emergency Services and Board & Commission Interviews committees. He was also Whitpain Township's representative to the East Norriton Plymouth Whitpain Joint Sewer Authority.

In addition to his official roles in the township, Tony also proudly supported all local first responders, including the Police and Fire departments, and the Second Alarmers Association and Rescue Squad.

Tony will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend by all those who knew him. He leaves his family an enduring legacy of love and encouragement.

Most of all, he will be remembered for his unwavering affection and support, his endearing wit, and his love of hot peppers, in any form and any recipe.
