Barbara Joan Mertz 91, passed away on July 13, 2021. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Mertz Sr., her son Robert Mertz Jr., son - in - law Glenn Linklater, and her grandson Christopher Linklater. She is survived by her four daughters Cynthia Linklater, Deborah Natale (Frank), Elizabeth Mertz, and Jennifer Lutz, her brother Richard Jenkins (Shirley) and sister - in - law Barbara Creighton (Gray). Barbara is also survived by her grandchildren Dominic Natale (Kristy), Anitra Nesfeder (Bryan), Daniel Natale (Jaclyn), Timothy Linklater (Stephanie), Frank Natale, Sarah Linklater, Jenna Mertz, Miranda Lutz, Michelle Lutz, Laura Mertz as well as 7 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Barbara was born in West Chester, PA on December 30,1929 and was the daughter of William LeRoy and Catharine Lois Jenkins. Although she spent most of her childhood in Hellertown, PA, some of her favorite times as a child were spent on Long Island with her family enjoying her grandfather's sailboat. Barbara attended West Chester State College where she received her degree in Elementary Education. In August 1952, Barbara married Robert Mertz and shortly after marrying they moved to NJ where they had their 5 children. Throughout the years they moved and spent time in New Brunswick and Plainfield NJ, Northbrook, IL, Jackson, MS, and Bristol, TN before retiring to Warminster, PA and residing at Ann's Choice for the last 15 years. Barbara was a lifelong learner and continually taught herself new activities and crafts. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, needlework, weaving, smocking, caning, gardening, and basket making. While living at Ann's Choice, Barbara loved to take classes especially those having to do with art, music and the performing arts. One of her favorite activities when not spending time with her family, was playing weekly cards with her friends. This brought her great joy, especially in the later years of her life. Barbara had a strong faith in God and was a devout Christian. Even as her health diminished, Barbara's faith sustained her and she trusted that God provided while she showed strength and dignity . Barbara was a loving wife, dedicated mother and genuine friend to all who knew her. She was a kind, selfless woman who never hesitated to share her wisdom and sense of humor with those around her, even in her last days. She will forever be loved and missed.

A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Ann's Choice on August 2 nd , family will greet guests at 10 a.m., service will begin at 10:30 a.m. 30000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974 . The burial will take place at Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. 830 Highland Rd. Newtown, PA 18940.
