Obituary

Carolyn German Warner passed away peacefully at Buckingham Valley Rehabilitation and Nursing Center of Pineville on Sunday, June 15th, 2014 with her devoted sister, Bessie by her side. She was 102 years old.
Carolyn was born April 17th, 1912 at Spring Garden Mills in Newtown, Pa to Walter and Mary Craven German. She was the 3rd child of eleven children. She is predeceased by her brothers & sisters, Jeanette Nice, Elizabeth Parker, Laura Bean, Walter German Jr., Russell German, Dorthy Wucinski, Anna kocsis, Kathryn Scott and Richard German and her loving niece Mary Ann Serwell.
Carolyn spent most of her young life helping on the family farm caring for the animals and working in the fields alongside her father in Wrightstown, Pa. Carolyn proudly graduated 8th grade from the one room school in Penns Park. She was a big part in raising her siblings along with nieces & nephews.
Carolyn was the wife of Harry Trego Warner, who passed away in 1979. The couple were avid campers, hunters and travelers covering most of the United States including Alaska and Canada. Carolyn received recognition and awards for her marksmanship which she was very proud of. Carolyn worked at Cold Spring Bleachery for Linens in Yardley, and the Pineville Lamp Factory. Carolyn & her husband also owned and operated an antique shop in Pineville, where they resided most of their married life. She worked at the home of John Price Jones and several others before retiring at the age of 90 years old.
Carolyn took pride in the cars she owned and drove. She enjoyed making her house sparkle and being outside maintaining the yard at her home until moving to Buckingham Valley R & N Center at the age of 98. She was a quiet lady who lived a simply yet amazing life by all that she did and saw. Carolyn is very special to those around her and will be truely missed by all.
She is survived by her sister, Bessie Kirby of Wycombe, Pa and 4 generations of many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM at the Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave., Newtown, PA and to her funeral service at 11 AM. Interment will follow in Wrightstown Friends Meeting Cemetery, Wrightstown, PA Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Lingahocken Fire Company, P.O. Box 102, Wycombe, PA 18980 or charity of your choice.
