Obituary

SPARENBERG, CORINNE JOY - (70) of Linwood, NJ departed this life on May 31, 2016 following a lengthy and courageous battle with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Her last days were spent comfortably in her home surrounded by her husband and children while under Hospice care. Corinne was a native of Atlantic City, where she graduated Atlantic City High School, and for the next 50 years continued to serve as the Chairperson of the Class of 64' reunion committee. Corinne also graduated Harcum Junior College in Bryn Mawr, P A; and further attended Kent State University in
Kent, OH. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Joseph and Miriam Bradway; Stepmother, Ruby N. Bradway; Sisters, Barbara Sanky and Linda Capaldi. Survived by her loving husband of 32 years, David J Sparenberg; son, David C Sparenberg; son, Vincent J LoPresti Jr of Carson City NV; daughter, Heather L LoPresti of Linwood, NJ; sisters, Camille Drake of Cypress Hills, SC and Carol Lawless of Orlando, FL; brother Jay Bradway of West Palm Beach, FL; and 4 beautiful grandchildren. For over 35 years, Corinne served numerous volunteer organizations holding a variety of positions ranging from: Volunteer Worker; Committee Chairperson; Board Member; Vice President and President. She helped to recruit and train numerous volunteers in support of the Miss America Organization and Contact Cape Atlantic, and has spoken on their behalf to various civic organizations throughout Atlantic County. In 1992 The United Way of Atlantic County honored her with their "Hometown Hero A ward" for outstanding service as a crisis intervention hotline volunteer support worker. In 2005 she received the "Outstanding Service To The Community Award" from the Atlantic City Kiwanis Cub. In 2008 she was presented the "Women Of Distinction Award" by the American Association Of University Women (AAUW), (an organization that promotes and recognizes individuals who directly support scholarships for young women). She further chaired numerous committees in support of the Ruth Newman Shapiro (RNS) Cancer & Heart Fund, and also served as a volunteer for "Showhouse At The Shore" for over 1 0 years. In 1998 RNS received an honorable mention for their efforts on "Make A
Difference Day" (presented at the Hamilton Mall), which Corinne chaired. Over the many years she has also been involved in other organizations including: N.J. Federation of Women's Clubs; Cresset Jr. Women's Club; American Red Cross Chapter of Atlantic County; Atlantic City Chamber of Commerce; Contact Cape Atlantic, and additionally served as an Extraordinary Minister at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish in Linwood, and is a current member of the Church of St Katharine Drexel in EHT, NJ. Corinne was an avid artist who excelled at and completed more than 60 oil paintings. In addition to Painting, she lists her hobbies as: "Talking" on the phone or in-person with friends and family; "Shopping" in any store that accepts her credit cards (and many that won't); and "Playing the Slot Machines" with her friend (Marie) or anyone else who would accompany her. She lists her favorite sayings as: Life's too short to cook or clean; You can never be too rich or too warm; That she serves 3 meals a day (frozen, microwave and takeout); and That she never met a slot machine she didn't like.

Viewing will be held from 9:00 -11:00 AM on Friday, June 3, 2016, followed by a Christian Mass at 11:00 AM at the Church of St. Katharine Drexel, 6075 West Jersey Ave, in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. Internment will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Temple University Hospital (Heart and Lung Center), 3401 N. Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19140. Family services by Jeffries and Keates Funeral Home, Northfield.
