Obituary

SPC. Devin J. Kuhn, an Army Ranger with Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment passed away suddenly on January 31, 2018 after a training accident at Camp Rilea in Oregon. He was 24 years old.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Devin graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School in 2013, where he played several sports. He enjoyed writing music and playing his guitar. Devin loved the outdoors and participated in activities such as hiking, skiing, golfing and running in endurance marathons.

Devin proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. He was assigned to Alpha Company, 2nd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment, at Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington, since December 2015. Devin served as an automatic rifleman who deployed once in support of Operation Freedom's Sentinel. During his life, Devin was awarded and decorated with the Army Achievement Award, the National Defense Service Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Army Service Ribbon, the Expert Infantryman's Badge, the Parachutist Badge and the Ranger Tab.

Devin is survived by his wife, Brittany A. (nee Kochis); his parents, Lynn (nee Brockwell) and James Kuhn; his sister, Sara Kuhn; his grandmother, Phyllis Brockwell; his mother and father-in-law, Susan and Michael Kochis; his brother-in-law, Christopher Kochis and his sister-in-law, Jillian Kochis.

Relatives and friends are invited to Devin's Life Celebration Monday, February 12th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 13th, from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at John F. Givnish Life Celebration Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Phila. and to his Funeral Mass, 11:00 a.m., at Church of St. Ephrem, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem. Interment at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
