Doris M. Hartkorn, of Southampton, passed away on July 7, 2021. She was 84. Doris was born in Doylestown to Mary Louise Gilbert (nee Leedom) and George Gilbert. She is survived by her loving children, Thomas, Jr. (Susie), Cindy Harkins (Jack) and Brenda Hunter (Bob); grandchildren, Michael and Jason Hartkorn, Patrick (Jamie), Andy (Deb), Kelly (Rob) and Kim (Eric) Harkins, and Brianna, Dillon and Mason Hunter; great grandchildren, Autumn and Emma Harkins; and a sister, Amanda Hayden. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas in 1998.

Doris was what some would call a workaholic, not retiring till she was 79 years old! She worked for Centennial School District as a cook at Klinger Middle School for 37 years.

Her biggest joy in life was her family. Doris's children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her favorite people to be around! Not a day went by where she didn't talk or spend time with at lease 1 member of the family. She was surrounded by love forever and always!

She loved to sew and make crafts! Doris was always the 1st person her children and grandchildren would go to when they needed their pants tucked, a stuffy fixed, or any other sewing emergency she was always to the rescue. She attended numerous craft shows around town to sell her beautiful master pieces she made with her daughter Cindy.

She loved to bake, shop from QVC, and do crosswords in her spare time. She was known in her family for making the BEST rice pudding, butter cake, and Jewish apple cake, of which she brought along with her to every family get together.

Doris used to think that people spent and wasted too much time on their electronics. That is, until she got her own iPad and throughout quarantine became addicted to Tiktok! There would be nights that she would stay up till midnight because she got too sucked in and just kept on scrolling! She most enjoyed watching the Tiktok's her doctor and his daughter made.

She enjoyed spending all holiday's with her family especially Christmas! She loved getting to spoil her family and make the holidays special! Even just this past Easter she made 14 Easter baskets for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to Doris's Life Celebration on Mon. July 12 from 6 to 8:00 PM at McGhee-Givnish Funeral Home, 690 Belmont Ave., Southampton, PA and again on Tues. July 13 from 10 to 11:00 AM at the Funeral Home. Services will begin at 11:00. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville. Doris's family has requested donations to be sent in her name to the American Heart Assoc., 1617 JFK Blvd., Suite #700, Phila., PA 19103. Condolences may be sent to the Hartkorn family by visiting www.mcgheegivnish.com.
