Obituary

Edna Lottie Meehan (Nolan) died Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Doylestown Hospital. She was 92 years old. Born in Scranton, PA to Stanley and Bertha (nee Kolenda) Chimahusky. Beloved wife of the late Vincent P. Meehan, who died in 1990, Joseph S. Nolan, who died in 1975, and William Nechwedowich who died in 1948.

As a young woman she worked as a seamstress and throughout her life took joy in making clothing. Edna was a former President of the Carbondale Resident Association and enjoyed doing needlepoint, knitting, crossword puzzles, cryptograms and playing cards. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, gardening and fishing.

She is survived by her son; Eugene S. Nolan and his wife Lynn A. Lunsford, step daughters; Jeanne Glosson and Joan Wiacek, a brother; Stanley Chimahusky; a sister; Rose Marie Pratt, 2 grandchildren; Matthew E. Nolan (a pulmonary critical care doctor) and his wife Margaret Moore and Justin Nolan (a US Park Police mounted officer); 2 great grandchildren; Charlotte Moore Nolan and Condict Augustus Nolan, 3 step grandchildren; Robert and Jeffrey Glosson, Michelle MacLacklin (Meehan) and 5 great step grandchildren.

Pre deceased by her step son; Jack Meehan and grandson; Christopher L. Nolan. Family and friends are invited to her Life Celebration Thursday, April 5, 2018 beginning 9:30 A.M. and to participate in her Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M. from St. Matthew Church, 78 Ridgeway Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 Interment to follow in Laurelwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Edna's memory to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org
