Edward W. Faunce, 82, of Brigantine passed away on Tuesday July 26, 2016. He was born on January 16, 1934 in Philadelphia, PA was a graduate of Frankford High School, attended Temple and Drexel Universities, and worked as a mechanical designer for United Engineers. Ed served in the United States Navy for four years during the Korean War as radio man for a P-2 flight squadron. He was an Eagle Scout, a woodcarver and painter.

Ed loved the outdoors, especially the deer and turkey woods; Was an avid gardener and fisherman, loved a good campfire, watching sunsets, and then looking at the stars. He did volunteer work in the community including delivering Meals on Wheels and transportation to those in need.

He was an awesome provider for his family, and would always put the needs of his family and friends before his own.

He was a devoted husband, married to his wife Marie for 64 years. He was a brother to Sam, Hannah and Rich. He was a great father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Ed is survived by his wife Marie, sister Hannah and brother Rich. Sons and Daughters: Michael Faunce (Mary Lapina), Gerald Faunce (Tracy Elliott), Linda Rosas (Michael), Lisa Faunce, Susan Friedman (Kraig). Grandfather to Matt, Damon, Luke, Janell, Melissa, Ryan and Tyler. Great Grandfather to Matt Jr., Lucy, Sam and Charlie.

Ed lived his life in a way that made everyone around him a better person. He had a positive, forward moving, optimistic outlook on life that was infectious. He had a strong work ethic, was a patriot, and a soldier citizen of his community and country. One of his greatest gifts he offered to people was the gift of himself. He knew how to be happy for other people. If you were happy about something and were telling him about it, he would be giving you his undivided attention and sharing your joy. He made the world a better place. We will miss him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Edward's Life Celebration and viewing on Friday July 29, 2016 from 9:15 to 10:45am at St Thomas Church, 8th Street and Brigantine Ave Brigantine. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11am.Interment will be private.
