Eleanor M. Black, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Luther Woods Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she had been residing. She was 92 years old. "Bee" as she was affectionately known by to her family and friends, was born on May 7, 1928 in Abington, PA to the late M. Clifford Brooks and Mary Emma (née Blankley) Brooks.

Bee was known for her baking, especially her Christmas cookies and cinnamon buns. Doughnut day was an annual event, with her house open all day to family, friends and neighbors stopping in for a home-made doughnut and a cup of coffee. She loved the Phillies, enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and going to yard sales. Bee enjoyed music, especially playing her organ, and was also a long-time choir member at Fox Chase United Methodist church. She enjoyed people – loved gatherings of all types, but she was happiest when getting together with her family.

Bee is the wife to the late James V. Black and is survived by her six daughters: Donna M. Jackson (Glen), Kathryn J. Black (Fred Wolpert), Cynthia J. Naudascher (Bruce), Diane L. Henry (Jim), Lori J. Goodyear, and Carol A. Metzgar (John). She will also be fondly remembered by twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Bee was predeceased by her three brothers: Clifford Brooks, Edward Brooks, and Harold Brooks.

Relatives and friends are invited to Bee's Life Celebration on Thursday, May 28, 2020 from 9:00-11:00 a.m. at Dean-Geitner-Givnish of Fox Chase, 7900 Oxford Ave. Philadelphia, PA 19111 followed by her graveside service at Lawnview Cemetery. Services for Bee, will be livestreamed via the Dean-Geitner-Givnish Life Celebration Home facebook page for those who may not be able to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Phillies Charities at Family services are entrusted under the care of Dean-Geitner-Givnish of Fox Chase, 215-745-1006.
