Emma Olivia McCleery, 99, passed from this life into eternity on Sept. 17, 2019, at Colonial Place and under the care of Mountain Hospice.
Emma was born July 14, 1920 in Barrington, New Jersey. She was the sixth of eight children born to John and Elizabeth McCleery. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Emma was the much loved aunt to 26 nieces and nephews and their families.

Emma graduated from Haddon Heights High School and Temple University. She worked for many years managing the Frankford Arsenal Cafeteria. She later worked for many years for the Department of Defense in Philadelphia. She retired in 1984.

In 2013, Emma moved to Elkins, West Virginia to be near her niece Hope Crites and her husband John Crites. Hope was with her when she died.
Emma had a full life. She was devoted to her family. She traveled widely. She loved to read, play games and visit with her friends. She was a child of God. She has now gone home to rest.

Relatives and friends are invited to Emma's Life Celebration visitation on Monday September 23rd from 10-11AM at the Dean-Geitner-Givnish Life Celebration Home (7900 Oxford Ave, Philadelphia 19111) with a service to follow at 11AM; interment at Lawnview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Emma's memory to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.
