Obituary

Emmett Joseph Kane, of Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 9th at the age of 72. Emmett is survived by his loving wife Rebecca (nee Tillman) of 45 wonderful years. Emmett was also the loving father of Richard W. Brooks IV (Rita), Megan E. Guers (Matthew), and Patrick E. Kane (Genevieve). Emmett was the adoring grandfather to Connor, Brennan, Hadley, Charlotte, Vivian, and Richard. Emmett will be greatly missed by his surviving siblings, Maryann Kaczorowski (Steven) and Robert Kane (Debra), sister-in-law Carol Kane, as well as his nieces and nephews. Emmett was predeceased by his loving parents, Patrick and Mildred, and his brother, Gerard.

Emmett was a proud veteran of the United States Army where he served active duty from 1966 to 1968 and additional reserve duty until 1972. Emmett's service continued into his professional career, where he would go on to spend 30 years with the Philadelphia Police Department, first as a Patrol Officer, and later as a respected Detective. As a lifelong animal lover, Emmett strongly believed in pet adoption. Accordingly, in lieu of flowers, donations in

Relatives and friends are invited to Emmett's Life Celebration visitation on Thursday July 16th 2020 at the Dean-Geitner-Givnish Funeral Home (7900 Oxford
Ave, Phila. 19111) from 9AM-10:30AM, with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Cecilia Catholic Church at 11 AM (535 Rhawn Street, Philadelphia PA 19111); Interment on Friday July 17th at 9AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery (830 Highland Road, Newtown PA.)
