Obituary

Evelyn Louise Pachuta, of Warminster, formerly of Jenkintown, PA, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2018, at the age of 96.

She was the daughter of the late Frank and Sadye Rentschler, dear sister of Jeanne Saurman (Richard), loving wife of 62 years of the late Andrew Pachuta and devoted mother of Ann Newman (Jerome G.) Susan Pachuta (Jim), John Pachuta (Laurel) and Kathryn Hinkle (late Jerry); loving grandmother of Dieter Newman (Jana), Jon Heffner, Emily McGill (Roc), Suzanne Pachuta (Brian), Lauren Hererra (John), William and Matthew Hinkle; great-grandmother of Tiarah and Aria McGill.

Evelyn grew up in Philadelphia, PA and graduated from Olney High School in 1938. She moved to Jenkintown with her husband and devoted herself to raising their four children while managing the financial side of (Andrew) Pachuta's Pharmacy in Warminster. She also volunteered in the library at Jenkintown Elementary School.

Evelyn was a long-time member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, in Warminster, PA and a former member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jenkintown, PA.

Evelyn and her husband Andrew were among the first residents at Dawson's Terrace, in Ann's Choice Retirement Community. Always helping other residents, she also volunteered at the Treasure Chest. Many fondly remember her mandel broit and vinegar cookies. She was also an avid reader, a pioneer in the yoga movement, an award-winning knitter, and a champion pinochle player. In solitary pastimes, she enjoyed completing The Inquirer's daily crossword puzzle (in pen!), the cryptogram and other word puzzles. With friends, she most enjoyed discussing her beloved Phillies.

Relatives and friends will be received by the family on Saturday, June 16 from 10:30 - 11:00 and are invited to Evelyn's Life Celebration at 11:00 at the Chapel at Ann's Choice, 30000 Ann's Choice Way, Warminster, PA, 18974
