Obituary for Frances Mary Moran Toth

August 17, 2021
Warwick, Pennsylvania

Frances Mary Moran Toth, 98, of Warwick, PA, passed away on Tuesday, August 17th , 2021 at home surrounded by her loving husband and family. Fran was born in Passaic, NJ, the daughter of the late Mary Rief Moran and Thomas J. Moran. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Toth, 98, her daughter, Janice Toth DeLuca, also of Warwick, and her son, Thomas Toth, of Tucson, AZ. She was preceded in death by her 2 younger brothers, Thomas Moran of Long Island, NY, and Robert Moran of Garfield, NJ and her son-in-law, Peter DeLuca, who passed away on August 13th , 2021. She was a doting grandmother to her granddaughters Tracy DeLuca Morgan (Bill Morgan) and April DeLuca Passaro (Scott Passaro), and a proud great-grandmother to her great-grandchildren Nathan, Gavin, Sophia & Adriano.

Fran loved to bake, knit, sew, make ceramics, play card games and do crossword puzzles. Taking trips to the casinos gave her great joy. You could often find her making needlepoint holiday decorations and other sewing crafts with her great grandchildren. She was a member of St. Cyril of Jerusalem's Senior Group and the V.F.W. Auxiliary in Garfield, NJ, where she served as President.

Fran and Joe's love story is nothing short of extraordinary. Fran was a WWII machinist and Air Raid Warden while Joe was in the Navy. According to Joe, it was love at first sight. They married in 1946 after Joe came home and built their house together by hand (with brick and mortar) in Garfield, NJ. They lived there for many years until they moved to Warwick, PA in 2003 to be closer to family. Both were active members and officers in the Garfield V.F.W. Post 2867. Known as "Mush" by her husband, they always kissed before bed and rubbed cheeks after he was freshly shaven. Joe, whom she called "Mate", even took her initial F. as his own middle initial, since he was born without a middle name. This September 14th would have been 75 years of marriage, but true love stories like theirs never have endings.

Fran will be missed by so many family members, wonderful caregivers and friends whose lives she touched. She lived a long, full life and we all find peace knowing that she is now in the arms of the Lord where she can join her parents, siblings, and best friend, Connie.

Relatives and friends are invited to Fran's Life Celebration on Friday, August 20th , 2021 from 10:15-11:15am at St. Cyril of Jerusalem in Jamison, PA. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated immediately after the viewing. Inurnment to follow the mass at Pine Grove Memorial Park and Cemetery in Hatboro, PA.
