Obituary

Frank C. Phifer of Lansdale passed away after a courageous battle on May 29, 2017 at age 80. Born in Norristown on October 4, 1936, Frank was the son of Helen (Adamavage) and Frank C. Phifer. He was the beloved husband of Charlotte J. (Castenova) who passed away in 2009. The children say they had the best time growing up in Skippack.

Frank was the beloved father of Frank C. Phifer, Craig Phifer, Sherri Gjurich and the late Jeffrey Todd Phifer. He was the cherished grandfather of Lauren Bell, Taryn Gjurich, Tyler Gjurich, Taylor Phifer, Noah Phifer and great grandfather of Charlotte and Hudson Bell. He was the brother of Janet Worthington, the late Betty Burness, Harry Phifer, Jerry Phifer, Jimmy Phifer, and Judy Fonte and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Frank was co-owner, along with his brother Harry, of the Village Inn in East Norriton and the Hurricane East in Wildwood, both for over 30 years. He was a broker at the Frank C. Phifer Real Estate. Frank, Charlotte and his sister Janet co-owned two ice cream parlors at the Jersey shore; the Rainbow and the Tiki.
Frank proudly served our country in the US Army and played football on the Army Team. He received the Ray Musselman Award for the outstanding football player in the Delaware Valley while attending Norristown HS. Frank was a generous, kind and quiet man and his greatest joy was to have his family around him. He and Charlotte were avid travelers.

Relatives and friends are invited to Frank's Life Celebration on Friday, June 2nd at St. Helena Church, 1489 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422 from 9:30-10:45 AM followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
