Obituary

Fred J. Moffa, 67, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Ocyober 19, 2017, surrounded by his loved ones. Fred is survived by his loving and devoted wife Sherry, his children: Jennifer Walker (Dave), Jaime Kohler (Buddy), Samantha Mower (Ed), and Anthony Moffa (Holli). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren: David, Sarah, Savannah, Emilie, Tristan, Ryan, Nicholas, Izabella, and McKenzie. Fred is predeceased by his mother Mary (Dempsey) Moffa, his father John Moffa, and mother-in-law Irene Herring.

In life, his greatest joy was his family. He enjoyed just watching his family grow and being on the receiving end of love from the grandchildren. He was always a man of few words but strong in his pride of being a Marine, a husband, a father, and a poppy. He served in the United States Marine Corps 4 years, 2 months, and 16 days, but who's counting. As he always said 'Once a Marine, always a Marine'.

He has great memories and stories he shared with his family, but some of his most enjoyable memories were of his "Thumper". He loved tinkering on his '72 Olds "FoFoTo". It gave him so much pleasure to drive fast and 'burn rubber'. His greatest joy was when he was surrounded by his family and devoted dog Mya. He loved hearing about everyone's milestones in their daily lives.

"I don't want to slide into the grave in a well-preserved body. I'd
Rather skid in sideways, ripped up, scratched, scarred….screaming
'What A Ride!'
