Obituary

Gary A. Schroeder of Solebury, PA died suddenly in the early hours of December 8, 2016.
He is survived by his loving family, including parents, Tom and Cory Schroeder of Solebury and Mary and Bob Noss of Mechanicburg, PA; his sisters, Rhonda McQuail (Jim) and Christy McKenna (Mike); his 'son', Christian Saylor; and nieces and nephews, Cory, Sage, Riley, Anna, Ivy and Stella. He was proud of his mother Mary's Chippewa bloodline.
Gary was born in Springfield, Ohio. His early years were spent in Linglestown, PA, and he moved to New Hope/Solebury in 1984. He is a graduate of New Hope-Solebury High School.
Following in his father Tom's footsteps, much of his working career was spent in the Engineering Department of Montgomery Mall, when he later accepted a position as Plant Superintendent with Harrisburg East Mall. A few years following, he returned to Bucks County and worked at Plymouth Meeting Mall in a similar Engineering capacity. He recently accepted a similar position at King of Prussia Mall. He loved the electrical work he did and was incredibly talented in that area, among others. Give him something to fix, and it would be done well, and it would be done right!
Gary also held a part time job at the James A. Michener Museum of Art. His commitment and work ethic had him busy seven days a week.
Another commitment was to sobriety. He supported so many struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, helping with transportation to meetings, shelter, conversation and guidance. His help has been meaningful to so many.
Gary was exceptional, a big man with a big heart. He would literally give someone his last dollar. He was fun and fun-loving, quiet and introspective, sensitive yet brusque, a terrible tease, a constant conflict of personalities, and an avid reader, making him knowledgeable on so many issues. He made life-long friends with so many.
Donations in his name may be made to the Gary A. Schroeder Trust Fund, PO Box 128, Carversville, PA 18913-9998, to fight alcoholism and drug addiction.
Following cremation, the family will hold a Life Celebration at Thompson Memorial Presbyterian Church, 1680 Aquetong Road, New Hope at 2PM on December 30th. Family and friends are welcome. Life Celebration services provided by Leaver/Cable of Buckingham.
