Obituary

Gary Maucher, 66, of Yardley, PA, died on March 31, 2022 at his home. Born in Bristol, PA, Gary was a life long area resident.
Gary was a self-taught upholsterer. He started working for his uncle Don (Don's Upholstery) in Bristol doing upholstery to pay for his Go Cart racing out of high school. Gary started his own shop in Penndel in 1977and moved to Newtown in 1980. During that time he established a reputation as an craftsman and artist of interior upholstery winning may awards in exotic and antique cars interiors. The growth of his business required him to move to Ivyland and a larger work space. Gary was an avid motorcycle enthusiast, collector and racer for the AHRMA and AMA. In 2008, he won the best in show for his 1957 Norton Manx Preservation unrestored and he was rated at #1 in Pre-War and in Class C Handshift in 2010 and 2012. Gary retired from racing in 2013. His upholstery work has won numerous First Places for interiors at Concourse D'Elegance car shows at Pebble Beach, Amelia Island and Meadow Brook. Gary's love for motorcycles never stopped when he helped found the Neshaminy Valley Chapter of the AMCA. He was President form 1996 -1998 and he continued as a Board member until 2022.
Gary is the son of the late Walter and he is survived by his mother Gloria Decker. He is the husband of Elizabeth Immel Maucher, and brother of the late Glen Maucher, Cheri Maucher and Denise Harris. He is also survived by 2 step sons, Jeremy and Jacob Immel and numerous nieces and nephews. Gary will be remembered by his many friends and clients for his artistry and his attention to the details.
Relatives, friends and members of the Motorcycle community are invited to Gary's Life Celebration on Friday, April 8, 2022 at the Swartz Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave, Newtown, PA from 9:00 to 12 Noon. No formal service is scheduled. Memorial contributions in Gary's name may be made to A Love For Life, 117 N.
