Obituary

George A. Stromeyer, 91, died peacefully and entered into eternal life on December 16th, 2021. He was predeceased by his wife Lorraine Stromeyer, sister Louise Brooks, and son-in-law Alexander Kolibabek. He is survived by his daughters Lorraine Kolibabek (Alexander), Linda Stromeyer (Patrick), granddaughters Laura and Lisa, brother Anthony. He was also the dear uncle of Linda Courtney and Carol Johnson.

George was a very talented writer and avid reader. Some of his published works include: "Coping with Crisis and Stress," and "Cryonics: Frozen for Eternity?". He also had many published magazine articles. George was a Eucharistic Minister at St. Martha Parish for decades and also a volunteer at Frankford Hospital, now Jefferson Torresdale, for over 20 years. During his life he had many jobs. He worked for a Defense Plant during the Korean War, later worked for a pharmaceutical company, and then for Shop Rite. He was a man of "many hats."

Family and friends are invited to George's Life Celebration on Monday, December 27th, at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, 10975 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154, from 6 – 8 PM, and then on Tuesday, December 28th from 9 – 10 AM at St. Martha Church, 11301 Academy Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 AM. Interment services will be held at Resurrection Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made in George's memory to Convent of Divine Love (Pink Sisters), 2212 Green St., Philadelphia, PA 19130 or St. Martha Parish.
