Obituary

George L. Taylor, 85, of West Chester, formerly of Audubon PA, passed away at home on November 9, 2017 surrounded by his family. Born December 23, 1931 in Havertown to the late William and Margaret (nee Murphy) Taylor. George was a graduate of West Catholic High School and Drexel University. He was the former CFO of Hale Resources Inc. and Evans Clay Company.

George is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary (nee Boyle). He leaves behind his children Kevin Taylor (Christine), Anne Lamb (Michael), and Karen Lithgow (Ted). He was predeceased by his son Ronald. George is also survived by his grandchildren Heather (Rafael), Derek, Andrew, Brian, Jonathan, Jenna, Payton, Dylan, Meghan (David), and Blair (Kristen); great-grandson, Lyle; and nephew, Jack (Mary).

George was an avid sports lover and was a season ticket holder for the Eagles and Phillies for many years. He enjoyed golf trips with friends to the Pocono Mountains and Myrtle Beach. He spent many Friday evenings at the Westover Country Club for the last 30 years, with his beloved wife Mary as well as many friends. He was known for his love of Irish whiskey, especially Jameson.

George loved to travel with Mary. They went on many vacations, and especially enjoyed their trips throughout Europe, the Panama Canal, Alaska, and Hawaii. Although George enjoyed traveling around the world, his favorite place to be was with his children and grandchildren.

Family and friends are invited to George's Mass of Christian Burial on Friday November 17, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Visitation BVM, 196 N Trooper Rd in Eagleville. Calling hours will be from 9:00 to 9:50 AM prior to his funeral Mass. Interment will take place at Limerick Garden of Memories.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of George Taylor to the Cancer Center of Paoli Hospital, C/O Development Office, 255 W Lancaster Ave Paoli, PA 19301, with a thank you to Dr. Christine Szarka.
