Obituary

Grace H. Lauer, of Newtown, PA

Born in the Germantown Section of Philadelphia, Grace was the daughter of Heneritta and John Lauer in 1924. She attended Philadelphia Music Conservatory. Grace played wonderful Classical Music on the piano. Moving from Philadelphia to Bucks County she was reared in Newtown by her parents. Grace lived in the Historic house once owned by Margaret Thorton on Court Street. Proud of her home because it was a Colonial original, attached to The Famous Court Inn. Grace belonged to the Blue Army and Sodality also a promoter for the Miraculous Medal Devotion in Germantown section of Philadelphia, PA. She retired from the George School in Newtown, PA. After retirement she went on to the Bucks County Community College. Grace received a degree in the Arts in 1995. While at the College, as she was well into her 60's she was very excited that all her young classmates accepted her. Her music degree, introduced her to her Professor. They became good friends and a friendship took them into traveling aboard to Fatima and Lourdes in France, Assisi in Rome and The Vatican "Italy", also to Israel, Jerusalem. Grace drove her car well into her nineties. She gave it up and moved into Pickering Manor where she lived a year and a half. Grace enjoyed everything they had to offer. On February 23, 2018, Grace was getting very tired and wanted to go home. She passed peacefully and lived a devout and interesting life. So grateful she was our friend. A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated Saturday, March 3, 2018, at 11:30 a.m. at the Olde Church of Saint Andrew, 135 Sycamore Street, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
