Obituary for Heather Upmalis

October 14, 1949 - May 13, 2014
Doylestown, Pennsylvania | Age 64

Heather Upmalis, age 64, of Doylestown , P.A. passed away suddenly of a heart attack at her home on Tuesday May 13, 2014.
Heather was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, on October 14, 1949, daughter of Mary and George Murray and she became the older sister to Garth.
Heather graduated from St Joseph's School of Nursing in Toronto, as a Registered Nurse in 1968 and spent many years working in various Emergency Rooms in the Toronto area. She travelled extensively in the 1970's, mostly in the far east. She later settled in Kitchener-Waterloo, to have her beloved family and continued her nursing career there. Her nursing career spanned 3 decades.
Heather moved with her family back to Toronto and then onto Pennsylvania in 1994.
Heather is survived by her two adoring children, Jeffrey and Jordan, who both reside in the Doylestown, P.A. area. Jeff is engaged to be married this October 17th to Lynn Marie of Washington Crossing. Heather was extremely fond of Lynn and was truly excited about this upcoming union. Heather also leaves a tremendous void in the lives of her many very close friends and relatives.
Heather always had time for her friends and family. She was extremely good at keeping in touch and was famously good at writing letters before that practice became "quaint" with the onset of personal computing.
In more recent years, Heather volunteered with a crisis help line, and as hospital volunteer.
Heather was an animal lover. Her pets too numerous to mention, all enjoyed a very loving home and presence. Heather volunteered with many aspects of animal care. She fostered many pets and volunteered in a birthing barn for horses. She was passionate about animals. Her pets included cats, dogs, birds, donkeys, horses, a goat, and her beloved poodle, Zoe.
To know Heather, was to know that she loved her two fabulous kids and Lynn, the color blue, hydrangea flowers, and her animals. She was well-read, a beautiful writer, loved the movies and shared her gifts of knowledge with all of us. Heather, you are always on our minds. We miss you so.
Family and friends are invited to Heather's Life Celebration, Tuesday, May 27th, from 10AM-12PM at Trinity Episcopal Church, 6587 Upper York Rd., Solebury, PA and to participate in her Memorial Service at 12PM.
