Obituary

Helen B. Craven, age 93, passed away Tuesday March 12, 2019 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born in Philadelphia to George and Helen Updyke(nee Taylor). She was raised in Doylestown and graduated from Doylestown High School. She worked at the old Thermoid Manufacturing Company in Trenton. On a blind date she met her future husband, Clarence, who although worked at the same place, they had never met there.
After marrying Clarence, she never worked outside of the home again. Instead, she raised her five children in Penndel where she lived for over fifty years. She found Penndel the perfect place to raise a family.
Helen loved her game shows on TV, reading and was a huge Phillies fan. She will always be remembered as a sweet person who loved her family as well as her chocolate.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband Clarence J. Craven and her sister Bernice Work, of Honey Path, SC., she is survived by her loving children; Connie Davis (Doug), of Newark, DE., Jani lin (Jen), of Hicksville, NY., Clarence "Rusty"(Sheila), of Halifax, MA., Barry Craven, of Bensalem, PA., and April Melnick(Joseph), of Levittown, PA., her dear sister, Virginia Stewart, of Honey Path, SC., her sisters-in-law, Beryl Solis(Willie) and Peggy Craven, her cherished grandchildren; Sandy, Linda, Marc, Ming-Le, Jeffrey, Jali, Justin, Kelly, Stephen, Jessica, Joey and Shaunna, she is also survived by numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to Helen's Life Celebration Sunday March 17,2019 after 1pm from Dunn/Givnish of Langhorne, 378 S. Bellevue Avenue, Langhorne, PA. followed by her Christian Burial Service at 2pm. You are also invited to her interment Monday March 18, 2019 10am in Newtown Cemetery.
