Obituary for Helen T. Brewer

September 4, 2021
Horsham, Pennsylvania

Helen T. Brewer (nee Tinney) of Horsham, Pa., passed away at her home on September 4, 2021. She was 91 years old. Born in Philadelphia, Pa., she was the daughter of the Late Thomas Tinney and Nita (nee Pryor). She is predeceased by her husband Robert K. Brewer Sr.

Helen is survived by her seven children, Robert Brewer Jr. (Kathleen), Debbie Schulberger (Mike), Nita Rose (Pete), Kerry Todd, Marianne Brewer, Susan Mumber (Chris) and Tom Brewer (Becky), as well as 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

A favorite pastime of our Mom was watching WWII movies. Growing up during the war gave her a reverence for men in the military. She loved shopping, especially antiquing and was an avid reader of fiction novels, easily consuming a novel in a day. Our mom had an incredible sense of humor and was quite the dancer, loving to jitter bug to the Glenn Miller orchestra. Her favorite entertainer was Frank Sinatra and she felt a strong connection to "I did it My Way" which exemplified her life. Our family holds a fondness to many years of summers spent at their family home in Ocean City along with the memories of parties with lifelong friends with never ending laughter and fun. We believe our Mom found one of her life purposes late in life when she gave two decades of volunteering assistance to "A Woman's Place". She had a very special connection to its mission because it benefited women's self-empowerment. Her ultimate treasure was her family, "her life and her heart", often looking in awe of the family she loved and cherished. Our mother was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.
