Obituary

Irvin Miller, Sr., 92, of Washington Crossing, PA was a strong, courageous, and gentle man who died peacefully on May 8, 2016 at Capitol Health Hospital, Pennington, NJ. He was born and raised in Kingston Township, PA and graduated from the Kingston Township High School in 1943 and lettered in various sports. He was a long time resident of Bucks Co. for over 50 years.

Irvin was a Veteran of US Navy served in the Construction Battalion (See Bees) during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946. During the war amongst all the other facets of the Military he was involved in he played football for the Navy in the Army/ Navy game. He was a retired maintenance supervisor from the Bucks Courier Times in Levittown for over 23 years. Irvin was an avid fresh and saltwater fisherman and he was a craftsman of fishing rods, reels and lures. He could fix and repair almost anything and he built and gave away many bird houses and napkin holders. His baking skills included his famous Chocolate Chip Muffins and he also loved to sing and dance. He would travel to Nantucket for fishing vacations with close friends and with family.

Irvin is the husband of the late France Mary Rowlands Miller and the devoted father of Sandra Lee Miller Ogborn and her husband Orton J. Ogborn and Irvin Miller Jr. and his wife Annette Miller. He is the proud grandfather of Jim Ogborn, Michelle Haywood and Kevin Ogborn and has six great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to Irvin's Life Celebration on Saturday, May 14 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM and to his funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Swartz/Givnish Funeral Home, 323 Washington Ave., Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will follow in Washington Crossing Methodist Church Cemetery. All are invited to the repast at the Sullivan Pavilion in Washington's Crossing Park. Memorial contributions in Irvin's name may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Ocean Conservancy.
