Obituary

J. Barry Goff, Sr., 74, of Margate, NJ passed away peacefully on Sunday June 4, 2017 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Woodbury, NJ he was the son of the late William Spencer and Elizabeth Ashley Goff. He was the devoted husband of Marianne (nee. Froio) Goff whom he married on September 10, 1966.

Barry was a 1960 graduate of Atlantic City High School and graduated Lafayette College in 1964 with a BA in economics. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and attained the rank of Captain while in the service. Barry worked with his father at W.S. Goff Company, Inc., taking over the business in 1977.

After working many years Barry retired early and engaged in many activities such as skiing, bone fishing, motorcycle (Enduro) riding, golfing and competitive trap shooting. Barry excelled as a squash player and was a member, and former President, of the Chalfonte/Haddon Hall Racquet Club. He was an avid collector of duck decoys and was a wonderful father and grandfather, proudly cheering his children and grandchildren on at their many sporting events, concerts and activities.

Barry will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife Marianne, children, J. Barry Goff Jr., (Shannon), William S. Goff, Megan Goff Davidson (Mike), sister, Sharon Goff (Garo), many nieces and nephews and his four beautiful granddaughters, Olivia, Savannah, Sophia, and Henley.
