Obituary

Jack Caravello of Langhorne, 93 passed away on February 26, 2018 surrounded by his family. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Rebecca (Bowen) of 73 years married. Jack will be forever loved by his daughter, Bonnie Lee Reeves (Caravello) and son, Ricky Keith Caravello. He was a beloved Grandfather to Rebecca (Jack), Cristina (John), Jaclyn, Steven and Great Grandfather to Johnny, Danny and Matthew.

A WWII Mighty 8th Air Corps Veteran, Tail Gunner on the B17, Flying Fortress; Jack flew 30 missions over France and Germany. Shot down on his 22nd mission, Christmas Eve, 1944, he was wounded, but evaded capture. Made contact with the underground and returned to England to then survive a mid-air collision. Awarded Purple Heart, 5 Air Medals, 3 Battle Stars, French Legion of Honor and D-Day Medal. Worked for Bond Baking Company as Director of Sales and Arnold Bakers as a Sales Manager. Partnered with his wife as Artisans for their Pennsylvania Dutch Pottery business. He was an original founder of the Langhorne Rotary Club with other local business leaders and ministers. He was also a member of the Elks.
