Obituary

James J. Himsworth Jr. of Worcester passed away peacefully on December 10, 2017 at the age of 86. Born in Worcester on August 4, 1931, he was the son of the late Mary (née McCabe) and James J. Himsworth Sr. He attended Roman Catholic High School, Villanova University, and Villanova University School of Law. He was a well respected attorney and a 50 year member of the Montgomery Bar Association. Jim proudly served our country in the US Army. He thoroughly enjoyed a wide variety of music, literature and the arts, gardening, cooking, tinkering on his violin, playing tennis, and the view of the meadow from his back porch. He cherished his children and grandchildren.

Jim was the loving husband of the late Patricia (née Morris) Himsworth. He was the beloved father of Elizabeth Evans (Grant Jr.), Daniel Himsworth (Mary), Mark Himsworth (Kelly), Jennifer Kaupp (Robert), James Himsworth III (Sandra), Patricia M. Himsworth, and David Himsworth (Melanie). Jim leaves behind his beloved grandchildren Grant III, Madlyn, Kara, James, Zane, Brady, Annie, Jack, Hannah, Molly, Colin, Sean, and Nathan. Jim is also survived by his brother Rev. Raymond J. Himsworth, his sister Margaret Annas (James Sr.), brother-in-law F. John Morris, and sister-in-law Joan Himsworth. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother T. Francis Himsworth Sr. and his brother-in-law William Morris.

Calling hours will be Wednesday December 13 from 6 – 8 PM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish, 200 W Germantown Pike in East Norriton and again Thursday December 14 at Visitation BVM Church, 190 N Trooper Rd in Norristown from 9 – 10:50. His Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Thursday December 14, followed by interment at St. Patrick Cemetery.
