Janet L. Sardaro passed away peacefully on May 14, 2018. She was born to the late Robert and Georgia Wimmer on January 23, 1933. Beloved wife to Frank P. Sardaro, dear mother to Kirk Sardaro, Mark Sardaro, loving grandmother to Jessica Sardaro, Lacy Sardaro, Jennifer Jerusik, Christopher Sardaro and friend to many. Janet along with being a loving wife and mother was a successful and an accomplished career woman and held many prestigious positions. Most notable was from 1970-1978 she was the American Red Cross Chairman at Sacred Heart Hospital in Norristown that lead to becoming the Director Of Volunteer Services there from 1978-1994 till Sacred Heart Hospital closed its doors in May of 1994. During her career she continued her education in Volunteer Administration, Interviewing and Recruiting from the University Of Delaware and Pennsylvania State University. She was also a member of the Association for Volunteer Administration, Society of Directors of Volunteer Services, and Committee on Hospitality / Special Events. With her love and dedication for her job and commitment to all her volunteers over the years, she received countless awards, recognition and testimonials from these organizations, community groups and her peers. Janet sponsored and mentored many high school students during the summer that brought them into the hospital to learn about volunteering. One of her greatest honors was being recognized and awarded for her "service to all people regardless of race or faith" by the Chapel of the Four Chaplains Legion Of Honor. She was also very creative, spending much of her free time crafting, making clothing and tending to her flowers. Above all, her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to Janet's Life Celebration on Tuesday May 22, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, with her funeral service at 11:00 AM at Boyd-Horrox-Givnish Funeral Home, 200 West Germantown Pike in Norristown (610 277 7000), followed by her interment at The Gulf United Church of Christ Cemetery.
