Obituary

John E. Brakoniecki, of Philadelphia, passed away on September 5, 2021 at the age of 62. John was the loving husband of Karen O'Brien for 34 years and father to Noah, Ava, and Kyle. John was the son of late Edward and Caroline (nee Dehaven) and brother to the late Edward, the late Robert, Joseph (Marianne), and Michael. John was the Godfather to Matthew and Kerianne Brakoniecki, and best friend of Ronald Hill. Along with his immediate family, John made a positive impact on everyone he encountered from nieces/nephews, cousins, and friends.

John was a proud Graduate of Northeast High School; class of 1977. He loved playing on sports teams and never stopped talking about the friends and memories that he made along the way. He made the biggest impact on the soccer and softball field. Along with playing, John loved to watch sports. He was an avid fan of all Philadelphia professional teams.

After high school, John started his career within the printing industry at Fernhill Press and later Double H Plastics. He worked as a Pressman for over 40 years and enjoyed his job and the people he worked with. He never missed a day of work.

John will always be remembered for his sense of humor. No matter the situation, he never failed to make people laugh. His humor was unique, and sometimes unusual, but that's what made him who he was. He loved fishing, and was a longtime member of the Olney Fishing Club. John found peace through music and joy through singing whether it was a song or something that he made up on the spot. He considered himself a veteran of Harrys, 2nd Street Pub, and Pat's Café.

John was happiest when he was with his three children, especially at their sports games. Whether as a coach or as a parent in the crowd, he was always there as their #1 fan. Aside from sports, he loved his children for everything they did and he never let you forget it. He always had a soft spot for animals especially our late dog, Bella. She was his canine best friend who he showered with love, food, and lots of crazy nicknames.

Anybody who ever knew John would have a positive story to share. He was genuine and always had your back. Now that John is no longer physically present, the impact that he made on all of our lives will last forever. He will truly be missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to John's Life Celebration visitation on Saturday September 11th at the John F. Givnish Funeral Home, from 10AM-12PM, with a service to follow at 12PM; interment private.
