Born October 21, 1943 in Newton, Massachusetts, he was the son of Elizabeth Ann and John J. Kelley, who have predeceased him. His wife Susan Frances (nee McGinn) died November 17, 1990 in Haddonfield, New Jersey. His brother Robert Terrence Kelley also preceded him on March 26, 1998 in Memphis, Tennessee. He is survived by his brother Richard Paul Kelley of Brooklyn, New York, and his wife Margaret; his niece Jennifer Kelley of Halfmoon, New York, his nephews Daniel John Kelley of Brooklyn, New York and his wife Emily; and Timothy Patrick Kelley of San Diego, California, and his grand-nephew Evan Sweeney of Halfmoon, New York and his grand-niece Frances Esther Kelley of Brooklyn, New York.
Jack graduated from St. Matthew's (later Archbishop Kennedy) High School in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania in 1961 and Villanova University of Villanova, Pennsylvania in 1965. He began his lifelong career as salesman shortly after graduating college at Raymond Rosen & Co., a distributor of RCA Victor and Whirlpool products in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he worked for more than 20 years. Jack's customers included appliance retailers in southern New Jersey and key independent retailers in the Delaware Valley. While at Raymond Rosen Jack won many sales awards, including The President's Award.
He married Susan Frances McGinn on June 5, 1971 in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania.
In 1990, Jack joined the Whirlpool sales team covering the mid-Atlantic region spanning southern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. At Whirlpool Jack continued to win sales awards, including National Salesman of the Year. Throughout his long career Jack was known for his lively disposition, his detailed knowledge of his product lines, and his conscientious work ethic. He loved his customers, his sales colleagues and the appliance business where he made many lifelong friends who enjoyed his humorous stories, his infectious laugh, his passion for movies, music and sports, and his captivating singing voice. He retired in 2011.
Jack's dedication to his work was exceeded only by his enjoyment of and devotion to his family and several generations of New England relatives.
