Josephine (DeFlavio) Walsh, of Buckingham, died of natural causes at Neshaminy Manor on Sunday, October 20, 2013. She would have been 90 on November 5th.

Josephine is survived by her children; Michael (Marge), John (Kim) and Patricia (Ken) Mugler. She is also survived by her sisters Jeannette and Connie, and brothers Tony (Hilda) and Flory (Suzanne), both of Quakertown.

Her grandchildren are Brian, Christopher (Debbie) and Shannon (Andy). There are six great-grandchildren, Vaughn, Sierra, Liam, Kaitlin, Gavin and Leia. There are many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband John (Jack) in 1989 and by long-time friend and companion Frank Moncavage in 2011.

Josephine spent 25 years working in John Wanamaker's in Philadelphia. She was loved by her co-workers and customers alike and won many customer service awards.

Many thanks to two very special friends, Jane Kern and Blanche Evans, who in their love and caring for Josephine, truly became part of her family.

Josephine's family is deeply indebted to the extraordinary staff at Neshaminy Manor and to Caring Hospice.

Finally, the family is most grateful to Monsignor Joseph P. Gentili, Pastor of Our Lady of Guadalupe, for his many visits, which brought great comfort and peace to Josephine.

Our lives are defined by a mother's capacity to instill in us understanding, compassion, and love. Josephine's inner beauty will always be eternal, as is our love for her. Grazie Infinity.

Family and friends are invited to Josephine's Life Celebration, from 9:30-11AM, Thursday, October 24th at the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11AM. Interment will follow at Doylestown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations are requested in Josephine's name to Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish for the Parish Life Center at 5175 Cold Spring Creamery Road, 2nd Floor, Suite 5, Doylestown, PA 18902.
