Obituary

Kenneth Charles Buck Sr., age 73, passed at home on December 3, 2016 surrounded by his family after enduring a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Ken was born on October 23, 1943 in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, PA.

He graduated from St. Matthew's Catholic School in 1957 and then attended LaSalle College High School where he graduated in 1961. Ken was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army Reserve in 1969. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree from Drexel University in 1967 and proudly earned his Master's Degree in 1970 while working full-time and raising a family with his devoted wife, Maryann. Ken and Maryann raised their 3 children in Cinnaminson, NJ where Ken enjoyed spending time with family (including beloved dogs, Kasey and Jake), took pride in doing home improvement projects, LOVED organizing his bi-annual yard sales, and also vacationing at their chalet in Arrowhead Lakes, PA where they made lifelong friends and memories. In 2004, they retired to Brigantine, NJ and enjoyed great times with their grandkids.

Ken spent his early career in business as a buyer for Campbell Soup, then Westinghouse Corp. He later worked as an executive program manager for RCA, Camden then GE/Martin Marietta on the Aegis Program, Moorestown, NJ.

Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Maryann (Seidel), loving daughter Mary E. Scharr (Edward), of Marlton, NJ and sons Kenneth Jr. (Lisa) of Cardiff, CA and Christopher of Brigantine, NJ. Pop Pop will be sorely missed by his cherished grandchildren, Christopher, Courtney, Juliana and Jasper; sister Carol Anne Wright (Donald), brother in-law Robert Seidel, several nieces and nephews, cousins and devoted "pup" Lancer. He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl V. Buck Sr. and Anna (Halbe), brother Carl V. Buck Jr. and sister in-law Jane (Studsky), father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clay B Seidel and Margaret (Fala), brother-in-law Clay (Sam) Seidel.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Visitation on Friday, December 9, 2016 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 331 8th Street So. Brigantine, NJ 08203. Burial will be private.
